German tour operators explore Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands
Six leading German tour operators are exploring Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
These tour operators are important partners for Tourism Ireland, as they bring valuable German tourists to the island of Ireland each year. Tourism Ireland aims to familiarise them with our superb tourism offering, given that this is a key time to influence the addition of new tourism products to their programmes for 2025 and beyond.
The group’s action-packed itinerary includes Experience Gaelic Games, cycling with Ballymahon Greenway Cycles, a cooking experience at Cloughan Farm & Cookery School and a tour of The Shed Distillery. They have also been enjoying a guided boat tour and a tour of Clough Oughter Castle with the Cavan Adventure Centre, as well as visits to the Maria Edgeworth Centre and Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery Experience and a short cruise on the River Shannon with Silverline Cruises.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “Working with the travel trade remains an important element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity in Germany and we were delighted to invite these leading German tour operators – who bring valuable tourists to our island – to visit Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. Our aim is to encourage them to extend the Ireland content of their programmes, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2025 and beyond.”
