Silent Valley, Mourne Mountains
Be sure to stay a few days longer in Northern Ireland to discover and enjoy the scenic landscapes of the region which has eight designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, all a short distance from one another. These include the Mourne Mountains, a favourite for hikers, and the gorgeous Causeway Coast and the Sperrin Mountains with their geological complexity and broad sweeps of moorland. The Glens of Antrim, carved from glaciers millennia ago, are a walker's paradise, while the Strangford Peninsula offers gorgeous, drumlin-filled lough views. All of these areas have waymarked trails of varying lengths making them easy to explore.
